I have problems with wifi connection on a Nexus 4. It constantly timeouts, or simply crashes. If I try to download on the mobile network it works fine, but uses the data allowance. is there any way of lengthening the time before a timeout?

I haven't tried any other wifi connections yet. I'll give that a go, and if it is OK then the problem would be my router.

I have tried the phone using my brothers Virgin wifi and it works perfectly. It looks like a modem problem. Any suggestions? I still get a timeut message when I try to use wifi at home

What modem is it?
Who is it connected to?
You may need to check it is set to "Allow new connections", also you may need to vary the wi-fi encryption, WPA2 is usually the best.

It is a Dlink 2780 with Talktalk. I have tried rebooting it, the password is OK. I do get a connection, but it is very quick to time out. Sometimes it works Ok, mostly it doesn't

I contacted Talktalk, who advised me to change the modem channel to 11, and switch on Upnp. it seemed to improve things. Whilst i still get timeouts, a second attempt is usually successful.

I'm currently have Wifi connection issues buy only with O2 and their Wifi ones. I can connect when I'm asked to sign in I keep keep getting a Internal Error: 500 message everytime.
The guys in the 02 shop don't know what the problem is. Online Guru's cant help. Does anybody have an idea. I've tried with the O2 Wifi app and without. I've even hard resetted the handset that doesn't cure the problem. Don't know anything else to.
Any ideas?
