Mr MI5, Would it be possible for you to PM me the link and instructions for the JB update please ? My GS2 was purchased second hand, is T-Mobile branded but i'm on 02 payg so presumably the phone doesn't require unlocking, I've never tried the whole modding thing before but i'm not concerned about warranty issues and am, on a good day, reasonably competent in following idiot proof instructions, If its something you have to manually type out then i wouldn't expect you to bother but if its a C+P job i'd be grateful, its about time i learned something new, Cheers!.

I am surprised that somebody on an official O2 forum is encouraging another poster who has never tried to "modding" a phone before to root their handset, surely the place for that is the unofficial forums?

If I want to install jelly bean on S2 manually do I have to Root my phone (sorry I'm a new bee on rooting). Can you email me the instructions and necessary files for the update.
Also if I need to Root the phone can I un root it back easily, if yes instructions for that.

No need to root the phone first, but the ROM I use comes pre rooted. Everything is fully reversable but as with everything there are "risks". I assume I am dealing with adults who understand these potential risks and therefore do it "eyes wide open". I am always available for extra support if needed but no one on here who has tried my mod has had any problems at all..... If Leonard or Toby wish me to stop supporting, I will, but we all know the only reason why this is happening because O2 are too slow with their updates. Fix that and there'll be no need for this thread at all!!

If you don't want to "mod" you can just flash the generic Samsung firmware as if you had an unlocked SIM free phone....

Instructions for MOD or Generic firmware? You must have your phone unlocked from O2 first which is free if you are on contract or £15 if you are PAYG....
