HTC Desire S ICS update on O2

Anonymous
Not applicable

Android 4.0 (ICS) has been officially released by HTC on their website

There is a version for region WWE (World Wide English) which is compatible for the UK

When is this device getting the update?

Also, I am on Gingerbread, Android 2.3 with the O2 firmware installed. Is it normal the phone takes 5 minutes to boot up?

Thanks

Drop the O2 firmware. Can you still restore it to a region specific one?

Only reason I mentioned our android section is they'd have more experience with android phones running the O2 variant.
Nothing sucks more than that moment during an argument when you realize you’re wrong. So Ive been told wink

It doesn't appear O2 are offering it yet unfortunatly you'll only find out at the same time as us.

You could use the WWE rom to upgrade your current phone if your technically minded. Depends on your CSC really. Was the phone purchased from O2?

As for the boot time I can't answer that sorry. Your best bet would be to ask in the android forum they might be able to answer that for you:)

Hope this helps

Thank you, but the boot time problem is related to the O2 firmware, not Android in general. I never had that problem before, then I did an O2 system update and I get 5 minutes to boot up my phone since that!

Hi mirko77,

FYI, I have moved this thread to the Android section.

Cheers, Toby
