I did a search but couldn't find anything.

It's reported Samsung will release this in Nov. Any idea when we'll get it on O2 S2 phones?

Cheers,

Paul.

Post #174 here http://community.o2.co.uk/t5/Android-Devices-Samsung-HTC-Sony/Jelly-Bean-for-Galaxy-S2-Roll-out-star... explains the Odin process. You'd just need to download the Official O2 ROM for the I9100 from sammobile.

Yeah I seen that in the message above, I suppose I'm apprehensive to root my phone (I don't use NFC anyway). I'm fairly tech-savy but knowing my luck I'd botch the whole job! lol

As already mentioned rooting isn't necessary (only if you wanted to use a 'custom made' ROM).  To update using a standard ROM from Samsung really is straight forward and only if you were really clumsy would you have a nightmare.  I make good backups using MyPhoneExplorer first (as a just in case), make sure my S2 is fully charged, and use a laptop with a full/good charge also (so even a power-cut can't get me).

I'm now running 4.1.2 (XWLSN) and it's added those nice, extra touches to an already great phone and OS.

Jonty.

Well can you tell me so I'm absolutely certain, which firmware it is? I'm on 19100P model and I'm not sure which one to choose from the drop-down menu on Sammobile...

Click the firmware tab then in the search box type i9100o2u - It's the top one in the shortlist. "I9100XWLSD March 2013 Version 4.1.2"

I thought the official JB update was due to be released this week, why is Kies telling me I have the latest firmware still?

I am now beyond hacked off stage with O2, this is a joke....what's going on?

Read this post http://community.o2.co.uk/t5/Android-Devices-Samsung-HTC-Sony/Guide-to-Samsung-S2-amp-Jelly-Bean-Updates/td-p/448668 then come back if it's not clear to you.

Transcript of a chat I'm having with the manager on their chat feature:

Liam: I'm really surprised at the amount of time it's taken - understanding too you have to wait on Samsung, but there's a clear mix of information I've been receiving about the Jelly Bean updated for S2

Jamy: I do understand that there has been a delay for Jelly Bean to be compatible with your phone, however we are equally eager to get a go ahead from Android.

Jamy: We are continuously in touch with Samsung for the update.

Jamy: Would request you to kindly bear with us for some more time.

Jamy: You have been patient with us so far, really appreciate that.

Jamy: However I would not be able to promise any time frame to you as I don't want to make any false promises.

Jamy: We are still uncertain about the dates.

If it helps.

I think I'm going to go with MI5 and JontySoper's route.
