Damaged sim

I have just changed my phone put the old sim in I have 2 for phone and texts but does not reconise my phone numbers on sim. I f clean the sim all ok then switch off and numbers disappear, clean sim again and numbers come back until I switch phone off again.

If you go into your phonebook settings look and see if it is set the show sim contacts.
