can you please tell me how I would go about changing my number or permanatly blocking callers please.

Call customer service and they will change the number for you. This will be free of charge if it's your first request. Tell them you are receiving nuisance calls or texts.

@Anonymous As @MI5 has said, if you let us know which phone you have, we may be able to advise you on a good app that would do the trick of blocking numbers. That would be a much simpler solution, and save you the hassle and aggravation of having to inform all your contacts of a number change.

I DO NOT WORK FOR O2

Some phones have blockers built in so no need for apps either which is even easier.
