Can't send text messages (Xperia)

Hi,I have a Sony Ericsson xperia x8 (5 months left on contract)despite having plenty of credit,for the past week I've been able to make & receive calls & receive text messages but cannot send messages,any Ideas?

  • select Settings
  • select Wireless controls
  • select Mobile networks
  • select SMS centre
  • ensure +447802000332 or +447802092035is showing
  • press OK to save

Go into messages and then select the settings menu. Check the message centre number is correct :

 

Message service centre settings

  • +447802000332 for Pay Monthly, or
  • +447802092035 for Pay & Go

Thank's for your response,but when you go into messages & select settings the only choices are -Delivery report,notifications,notification tone,notification vibration,sim messages & push settings

I've tried this on the Sony Xperia j and it says there's an update error, when I go via phone information and smsc.. It used to be a contract phone, now a pay & go.

Should be exactly as written here but if it's wrong on your phone it means you have the wrong sim as the message centre number is read off the sim card.

+447802000332 for Pay Monthly
or
+447802092035 for Pay & Go
