Can anyone explain why you still get billed for Data, when you still have all of your Data allowance left?

You shouldn't if you have allowance left. Check the dates you were billed and look at your bill to see how much data you actually used.

It says i still have all of my 100mb allowance left, but that i already owe £3.46 for data used this month alone ! Last month my bill jumped from £16.44 to £28.88 and this was solely on phone updates as i hadn't even been on the web. Ignorance in these matters is very costly.

LOL, you guys have lost me already. I'm a technophobe that has recently upgraded to his first smartphone from a very simple unit that didnt even have a built in camera !
I obviously need to change lots of settings on the new phone! I does seem to update lots of google apps every day. Do i not need this to happen then? I just assumed it was like a computer and you needed to let these things run in the background to keep them safe/current. I will try to find out how to only update my apps through wifi. Thanks for the pointers. Regards
