Question for the group.
I have a SG Note 3 which I have had for about 9 months. It was a refurbished device from o2 and has o2 bloatware installed.
Over the months the amount of use I can get from the handset "appears" to have reduced. Typically I am charging it 1.5 to 2 times per day. That said I do hammer it. It gets a lot of use.
My note 3 performs the same way if I'm using it a lot, and that was brand new 7 months ago.

I agree and I'm not suggesting that miraculously you will get 3 days use out of it, but I do expect to see an improvement.
The biggest change will come when you get the Note 4 as the screen is very efficient and is no longer the biggest battery hog, unlike, I suspect it is on the 3......?
Certainly, yes, the screen is the biggest battery draw on the Note 3. Plus, it's prone to burn in, (although Samsung have agreed a warranty replacement in my case).
Is the 4 really an improvement in this regard? I want one now

Yes @Anonymous I have noticed from time to time the screen gets very warm. I tend to stop using it at that point for a while.
Yes, you should - the screen is more liable to screen burn when it's warm apparently.
