Android 4.4 KIT KAT

Anonymous
Not applicable

Hi All,

new version of Android Kitkat should roll out and will be available for couple new phones.

HTC One, S Galaxy S4, Nexus 4, 7 . and couple other. There wont be big changes, but should be faster and main thing save the battery. Does any one know more when we will get it?

in regard to flashing firmware i'm a bit scared to on my Note 3 as i've read it trips the KNOX counter thing and makes the warranty void.

would it still make it still trip it and make it void if i flashed with a proper BTU firmware from sam mobile ?

The knox fuse only trips if you flash a non Samsung kernel... As long as you stay with genuine Samsung firmware you won't have any issues.
Note: You can only flash generic firmware if your phone is unlocked to all networks.

I've never had one tripped myself but looking on XDA it seems that some have if the phone see's the firmware as a "downgrade" of what is currently installed.
As the "boys", esp Chainfire are working on it there is sure to be a reset sooner of later.
The good news is that it will never go past 0x1 so as you say you can flash anything you want now. If you root you will have to remove that flag with triangle away app.

i read that Triangle away doesnt reset it due to it being an efuse that burns out causing the 0X1 or something but i also found out that Samsung repair centres can reset them so whether this burning out thing is true or not i dont know.

like i said, bit late to worry about it now hahaha

I meant triangle away for the root tag, if you root it. Wait a while for Chainfire to come up with the 0x1 removal tool wink
