Following Perksie's advice from the other similarly titled thread that has been listed as solved by someone, thought I'd open a new thread, so any HTC One X users can report on any correspondence they have with O2 about the roll-out of 4.2.2 to the HOX.
The last major update (to 4.1.1) left a lot of users disillusioned with O2 after conflicting answers from a variety of sources. If anyone can tell me how to post a link to that thread for reference I will. I will also copy and paste my comment from the other ('solved') thread below.
Let's hope O2 get it right this time.
@Toby & @Chiara, can you help us at all....?

I spoke to a guy at O2 on Livechat a bit earlier and asked when the 4.2.2 update would be released... after pointing me towards HTC and advising me to ask them (to which I responded HTC had told me to ask O2), I was advised that O2 would be releasing the update in the coming weeks after testing for any compatability issues which I guess means adding on some branded stuff i'll never use and a splashscreen.

Why would asking HTC help when HTC have released the software to O2, and it's O2 that haven't released it?! This is exactly what O2 did last time: They had no idea when it would come out and just hoped blaming HTC would work! It's either that or their advisors don't actually have a clue what they are talking about.
Anyone care to guess which is the most plausable answer?

I have the HTC One X+ on O2 and am wondering why I have to wait for the update... I pay enough money to O2 so I expect to have the very latest updates as soon as they are available for my handset! I tweeted O2 the other day to ask them when JB 4.2.2 + Sense 5 was going to rollout to my device and they said that it was in testing and would be released hopefully in the coming weeks. Coming weeks? Not very specific is it. While we are at it, what do you mean it is in testing?? HTC have customized it, tested it, and released it! Why does O2 need to re-test it?? It's ready for my phone so provide a world class service and push the update out to my device! If it's delayed for my device because O2 want to load a custom boot/shutdown screen (Don't want it, Don't Need it!), load some apps (Which I can Install anytime I want from the Play Store), add some bookmarks (which I delete anyway), and change the email signature from the standard 'Sent from my HTC One X+' to Sent from my HTC One X+ on o2' (which can be changed by the user), then I would rather not have any of that so I get the update as soon as HTC release it please!

It appears from this other thread ( http://community.o2.co.uk/t5/Android-Devices-Samsung-HTC-Sony/Dragging-their-feet/td-p/516850 ) That Voda did release it Friday for their branded Handsets. If their tech guys (n gals) can load all of there s#!t on it by now, I don't see any reason why O2 can't work to the same timescale. It must be embarrasing for them, or do they really just not care?
If the update isn't here by Friday, I will be leaving O2 at the end of my contract. If I was late paying they would be quickly on the ball, but the fact that I am not getting my money's worth by getting the support that should follow is inexcusable.

Maybe we should tell them our bill payments would be paid "hopefully in the coming weeks"
P.s. This is my 100th post, and my first one was also to do with HTC updates!

I also got the, standard, reply via Twitter. "Testing...blah, blah, blah, release it in coming weeks".
I've read on other forums Vodafone and others have started rolling it out.
COME ON !
