After update Nexus 4 to kitkat 4.4 can not switch bandwidth of 3G to 2G, the only choice I have 3G. I tried sim card Tesco UK and O2 UK sim card. Only I can do that in the service mode *##4636##* I tried sim card Orange Poland and appeared 2G mode selection. Any suggestions? Please refer the matter to google....When will the fix for this problem?

It might be better asking this in the Google forum, as it's their update that has caused this.

I'm seeing the same since the 4.4 update.

O2 network or sim card because this problem only occurs at the O2, Tesco and Giffgaff. In service mode I can choose 2G

With the introduction of 4G it seems O2 have removed the 2G only option from a number of devices, for some reason ?

I'm puzzled, I'm not in a 4G area and no 4G sim but this change just happened with the 4.4 update.

Mine now looks as the picture above.

It is strange but it can only be your sim card telling the phone that 2G is not available....

The screen now shows H with no signal most of the time, but still does switch to E when needed, I just can't lock it to 2G.

Oh well back to Wi-Fi all the time when at home..............! slight_frown
