Open your contacts app and click the menu button (bottom left soft key), choose "contacts to display" and tick all the boxes.

When you say tick all the boxes, I presume you mean one at a time. Done that, no luck thus far. Any other ideas. Thanks.

Do you know where your contacts were stored?
Possible locations are on the phone, SIM card or Google etc.

No luck at all.

I've followed the given advice, for contacts: no data on SIM, data on phone is what I've recently entered, where has it gone and how could it have gone?

This is a total nightmare for me, is there any possible way of restoring these lost contacts and info contained?

Cheers

The 3 places that the contacts could have been stored are phone, sim or on an account (such as google).
Normally if you go into the contacts app, there is a menu accessed by the 3 dots in top right corner. From here you choose contacts settings, then contacts to display. (Might not be exactly that, depends on phone and Android version.)
You probably want all to be selected.
Have you changed the google account (gmail account) that is logged in to the phone recently?
If the contacts were saved under that then unless/until you log back in with the same account they won't show.

Please note, this is not customer services and we cannot access your account. Do not publish personal details (email, phone number, bank account).

Unless you answer the questions we can't help any further.
We have no idea of knowing how you stored your contacts previously.
