Travelling to Nigeria, can I use my O2 SIM and how much will it cost

I am travelling to Nigeria for a week and I am wondering what is the best option for me to go by with my O2 phone. I pay monthly, the option on O2 package outside the euro zone are not clear. Can some help with some clarity please?

It's expensive to use your monthly sim there

Much better to use WhatsApp over wifi to keep in touch with people back home

Or you could invest in a local sim card
