I know you'll likely have some questions but we have an extensive list of FAQ's below, so please check these out first as your question has likely already been answered below.
Main Questions 🔝
Q. Are you going to be stocking the new iPhone 15 range?
A. Yes. O2 will be ranging the iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max which will be available to pre-order from 1pm on Friday 15 September, launching Friday 22 September. We'll have further details on our main shop page, and for Business customers on our O2 Business shop page in the coming days.
Q. What about the new Apple Watch Series 9?
A. We will be ranging the new Apple Watch Series 9, as well as the new Apple Watch Ultra 2. As above, we'll have more details on our main shop page in the coming days.
Q. Can I use Switch Up on the new iPhone?
A. The short and simple answer is 'yes', but please see the 'Switch Up Questions' section for more info as there may be limitations, restrictions or important info that applies to you.
Q. How will your extended warranty work on iPhone 15?
A. Our ‘Plus Plans’ (more info here) include an extended 3-year warranty, regardless of tenure. So if for example you pre-order an iPhone 15 and customise your plan length to only 12 months, then you can rest assured that your device will still be under warranty with us for the full three years.
Q. What else do I get with a Plus Plan?
A. Our Plus Plans include the best of O2. Choose a Plus Plan and get:

Q. Do you have any O2 Recycle offers with the new iPhone?
A. You'll be able to use O2 Recycle as normal to trade in your existing iPhone (or other device) to help offset any costs you may have of upgrading early, which you can do simply by paying off your device plan.
Q. When will I be able to use my O2 Open or student discount on the new iPhone?
A. O2 Open and Student discount will not be available from launch. Keep an eye open here or on our Social Media feeds for any future updates or changes to this.
Q. A friend/family member works for you. Can I get my friends & family discount?
A. Friends & Family Discounts will be available as normal. Please discuss with your friend or family member that works for O2 who will be able to give more info and apply for this.

Upgrade Info 🔝
Q. When will I get my new iPhone?
A. At launch, stock is always in very high demand so we recommend customers pre-order as soon as possible once pre-orders go live. We'll display your estimated delivery timeframe at the time of pre-order and that's when we expect to deliver it to you. We’ll email/text you whenever we have an update on your order and this usually won’t be until the day (or evening) before delivery.
ℹ️ Pre-ordering will not guarantee launch day delivery, but will give you the best chance of getting your iPhone as soon as possible
ℹ️ Our customer service teams won't be able to give you an exact delivery date prior to your order being prepared for delivery
Q. I want to upgrade but want to check all my available options
A. As upgrades are very much account specific and the details can vary from person to person, we'd recommend checking your My O2 app for upgrade options, visit an O2 store, or give our customer services a call. The easiest way however is to check the My O2 app which will let you know your options.
Q. What if I want to upgrade earlier than my upgrade date?
A. With Custom Plans from O2, you can upgrade at any time by simply paying off the remainder of your device plan agreement. You can off-set much or some of this cost by using O2 Recycle to trade-in your existing device, or use the value of your device to reduce your monthly cost. The option is yours.
If you have a Plus Plan with Switch Up, then you’ll be free to upgrade to the new iPhone 15 range whenever you want (if you’re on our Anytime terms), or once you’ve surpassed 90 days, if you’re on our 90 day terms and you’ve already used Switch Up less than 90 days ago.
Pre-order / Availability / Order Info 🔝
Q. Can I select Premium delivery for my new iPhone during pre-order?
A. No, premium delivery options will not be available from pre-order for Consumer or Business.
Q. I didn’t see an estimated delivery date. What was it?
A. When you start your pre-order journey we display an expected delivery date on the main product page. We know pre-ordering the latest iPhone is always an exciting time but please take note of that delivery estimate, as it’s what we aim to deliver within. After you’ve ordered, the next order update you’ll receive will be when your order is being prepared for delivery, so please be patient and keep an eye open for that update.
Q. How do I stay up to date on my order?
A. You can keep an eye on your My O2 order status, and we’ll also keep you updated as and when there’s progress with your order. Please note that if we show you an up to 3-week delivery estimate (for example), don’t be alarmed if you don’t receive any updates within that timescale – you’ll only receive an order update once your order progresses.
Device & Other Questions 🔝
Q. Will you support 5G and eSIM on the iPhone range?
A. Yes, absolutely! You can find out more about O2 5G, including the locations where 5G is currently live – with more locations being activated regularly.
We launched 5G eSIM in September 2020 and you can request a 5G eSIM in the same way as you would for a 4G one. More details on eSIM here.
Q.Will I be able to unlock the iPhone 15?
A. Most of our devices now arrive unlocked – including these new iPhones - but if you receive a device that is locked, you can unlock this free of charge. More info here.
Q.Will it have Wifi and 4G Calling?
A. The new iPhone 15 range will launch with Wifi and 4G Calling enabled
Q. Can I use an O2 eSIM and a *other network* physical SIM, or vice versa?
A. Absolutely. You're free to mix and match how you'd like. Want to have an O2 eSIM and be able to use a 'local network' physical SIM when you go on holiday or business trips abroad? Easy. Want to use another networks' eSIM but use a physical O2 one? Done. Or vice versa? Yep, you can do that too.
Switch Up Questions 🔝
Q. Can I redeem my O2 Switch Up for the iPhone 15?
A. You can redeem O2 Switch Up for the new iPhone 15 if you are eligible. See the table below to see how this applies to you.
Switch Up customers pre 3 August 2023 | Switch Up customers post 3 August 2023 |
Customers who took a Plus Plan tariff with Switch Up included before 3 August and have continuously remained on a Plus Plan are able to swap their phone for a new one whenever they like.
Customers who still have the £3.99 Switch Up bolt-on can Switch Up whenever they like one last time. To retain Switch Up, customers will need to move to one of our Plus Plan tariffs when taking their new phone and will need to move to our new 90-day terms. |
Customers who took a Plus Plan tariff with Switch Up included from 3 August are able to swap their phone for a new one, every 90 days. This includes customers who previously had the £3.99 Switch Up bolt-on and now have Switch Up as part of their Plus Plan tariff If this applies to you, you won't be eligible to redeem Switch Up until it has been 90 days or more since your plan started or you last switched up. You can still upgrade and use O2 Recycle to offset the cost of your new device. |
Q. I have Switch Up and I'm on the anytime terms. How do I pre-order?
A. Once pre-orders are live, visit an O2 store and pre-order as normal - a deposit may be required, given back upon your collection. Once your pre-order arrives in-store you'll be sent a notification that it's ready for collection and when you pick it up, your Switch Up will be processed as normal, with a grading check performed on your existing device to ensure it's eligible for Switch Up.
Q. I don't have Switch Up. How can I get it, and how do I upgrade early?
A. Switch Up cannot be added part-way through an existing contract, so if this applies to you then you can upgrade early by paying off the remainder of your device plan. Don't worry about the airtime plan - we'll cover that. You can use O2 Recycle to trade in your existing device which may offset much or all of what it'd cost you to pay off your device plan.
Q. Can I pre-order the new iPhone 15 online, via Switch Up?
A. No. Switch Up remains an in-store only option. To pre-order the new iPhone, you'll need to visit a store and process your pre-order via Switch Up there.
Please note that this will only apply to customers on our 'Anytime' Switch Up terms, as any customer on our new 90 day terms will have started their Plus Plan on or after 3 August 2023, and your earliest Switch Up date will be 90 days from when your Plus Plan started.

I would like to upgrade via switch up, but my local store is 20 miles away. I’d like to see the prices before departure to make a decision as to whether an upgrade would be feasible?
