Wifi calling - intermittent silence

I've had wifi calling working perfectly til I switched from Virgin Mobile to O2 Volt. Now calls over wifi calling cut in and out intermittently - silence for several seconds both for me and the person on the other end of the call. It's now unusable which is killing me as I rely on the mobile for work!

iPhone X, Virgin Media wifi calling.

Have you tried forgetting your wifi connection and reconnecting?

Sadly the problem remains. Call connects, and after a few seconds there's no sound in either direction.
