I am currently in south east Asia and will be for the next 3 months I would like to use esims alongside my current contract, but believe my device needs to be unlocked by carrier how do I do this?

How old is the phone?

O2 haven't locked devices since 2017

You will be fine, as phones that would have been locked dont support eims, and if bought from o2 you just download the esim and crack on..
