So EE and Three have had it for ages yet O2 seem to be happy to stick to the 4G signal in England's newest and growing city.

Not good karma.

So when will O2 actually put 5G in Preston and keep up with the Joneses???

Lots of big towns and important places don't have 5G cover, Preston is not unique.

As to when it arrives, anybodies guess with O2. 4G isn't even that good in many places, manly due to poor bandwidth.

This is not O2 and we are all customers here similar to yourself and cannot answer account type queries.

Still no 5G. Just EE & Three have it in Preston.

Shocking isn't it?

I don't think it is shocking @Paul_Iddon. The four networks are rolling out 5G in different areas at different times. There are numerous examples of settlements with 5G from either O2 or Vodaphone but not from EE or Three.

There are also many locations with no 5G at all - now that is shocking. 🤣

And most of it is mid band NSA so don't expect miracles when it does arrive

To be blunt, no.

Every operator has a different strategy for both 4G & 5G rollout, but you could likely find locations where each of the 4 MNO's are the ones not to have 5G coverage.

Having said that, national benchmarking surveys are pretty consistent in which networks generally perform better than others - based on a consistent rollout approach. And O2 tends to come last in those.
