Issue with service abroad

Hi,

 

I have an O2 Pay as you go SIM and I am currently in Mexico. I also have a Mexican SIM which has good network coverage in most places but my O2 phone very rarely has coverage even when I try to change the network provider manually. This is a real issue for me as I'm unable to receive verification texts. Is there a solution for this or should I be looking for another provider?

If you have a spend cap attached to your tariff, this might be causing the problem. For Mexico on PAYG you are paying standard rates and it is expensive ie

Texts are always free to receive and there are no spend caps on PAYG.

The most likely issue in receiving texts is with the local networks being used whilst roaming so not much O2 can do to fix that unfortunately.
