I've ordered a new iPhone from Apple. I'm currently on a sim only monthly contract with O2 and don't want to change that. My old phone is an iPhone SE (1st Gen) and the new one is an iPhone SE (2nd Gen 2020)

1. How do I prepare my old iPhone ?

2. Do I have to cancel Find my iPhone?

3. Do I need to do anything else other than swap the sim from old to new iPhone?

4.How does the data and settings get transferred?

5. I'll be trading in my old phone so how do I wipe the data and info?

Backup your old phone to iTunes.

Turn off find my iPhone and remove your Apple ID.

Go to settings and do a complete reset of all phone data.

The old phone is now ready to recycle.

Insert your current sim card into the new phone and connect to iTunes.

Restore the last backup you made of your old phone.

Once he restore is complete, login and setup the new phone.

It will prompt you with what to do as it runs through the setup process.
