Guide: Is the network down for me or everyone? may help, but you will need to call O2 to find out why - if you are PAYG, has your top-up worked? If contract, have your payments been made? MyO2 will help, but ultimately you need to call O2 - Guide: How to find help & contact O2 has all the ways to do this. Good luck @M1977

I suggest that you try your SIM in a different 'phone and try a different SIM in your 'phone.
If you are sure that it is your SIM that it is at fault, please visit your local O2 retail store with photographic identification (photo ID) and get a new one :-
