HELP!! need to swap sim and sign into apple id

I recently damaged my phone screen and can no longer use my phone. So i have charged up my old phone so i can use messenger and whatsapp in order to message my relatives and friends until i can manage to swap sim. I am currently failing to do either of these things as the phone i am now looking to use is asking me to sign into my apple id, when i sign in it sends a verification number to my broken phone but i obviously cant see this due to the broken screen. is the another way i can recieve a verification code such as email ? any help would be extremely greatful. Thanks

I think if you login to iCloud on a PC you can turn off 2 step verification whilst you set up your phone.

thanks for your reply, i have just trieed to sign in on icloud on my laptop and as soon as i did it asked for two factor authentication.. im running out of ideas
