Use your minutes and texts as you would at home and up to 25gb of data per month without any extra charges @Vicky10

So I just turn me phone on like I would in the uk and it will just let me use it with out charging me anything

Yes that is correct, but you must stay under 25gb of data use.

Might also be a good idea to call O2 to check there are no bars on your phone for international travel.
