I have an iPhone 12 Pro on O2 and using Wi-Fi Calling.
I can receive most texts but 2FA codes, e.g. from eBay don't come through when using Wi-Fi Calling, I have to wait to get mobile reception back. As far as I understand it Wi-Fi Calling on O2 should now support SMS.
Please can somebody from O2 help? O2Sarah-?
Many thanks.

SMS over WiFi was in a restricted trial on O2 back at the start of the year, I think it is worth asking @Chris_K rather 4gan any of the O2 advisors, @CorrectHorseBatm.

As I said, I will wait for O2 to provide support. Thanks.

@CorrectHorseBat
@Chris_KIs a senior member of O2 staff, and is the one to go to for major changes, new phone releases, wifi calling, Roaming etc, etc. In fact I suspect our account advisors (as good as they are) would need his advice for various updated information.
Just thought I'd mention that.

Hi @CorrectHorseBat. We currently do not support SMS over Wi-Fi calling on apple devices. This is a feature we are in the process of adding more handsets to but at this time we cannot advise when this will be added for the iphone 12.
I hope this helps

Thanks but this doesn't make any sense.
I am using Wi-Fi Calling right now to receive text messages on my iPhone. The feature works, I don't have any phone signal and SMS messages come through.
What doesn't come through is 2FA codes, which seems a major oversight.
@Chris_K please advise?

Are you sure its not iMessages coming through as they will work regardless of the connection type. 2FA is pure SMS
Also note SMS requires very little signal to work, so even with Apple's rubbish signal algorithms you could still be connected to o2's infrastructure..
