I had to order a replacement Sim card for I phone 11. Using the code I successfully loaded the e sim but am getting no signal. I am stuck in Cyprus due to virus. To completely activate e sim, do I have to be in the UK to make the first call before it works abroad?

You will need to contact Customer Services to activate the esim, as you cant do a sim swap.

You need to be in the UK for a sim swap to complete. It has to connect to the o2 network first after a swap.

Im afraid it wont work til you come back to uk. Best option is to get a friend/family member to visit an o2 store and get a normal card sim, give you the sim serial and you call o2 from cyprus and request sim swap. Your friend/family member then puts the sim in a phone in uk to connect to the network first time to ensure its activated.

Once this done they mail the sim to you in cyprus.
