Hi,

I have woken up to see o2 has billed me for £305.72. When i contacted o2 via live chat, they explained the it was data usage. My bill is usually £22.80 a month. I said that they always cap my data so how could i have went over. They went on to explain that the company i purchased the contract through changed my account from personal to business (without my authorisation) and that business accounts are not capped on data usage. I got a 80 percent data warning on the 17th. So i would have had to use £283 worth of data in four days. Bare in mind over 60% of the day i'd be using wi-fi. Does this sound correct to you? An already broke student left with no money!

Kind Regards,

C

Highlight all that in your "complaint".

At one time you couldn't get a business contract without proof such as invoices or vat registration documents. Now anything goes in the chase for commission.  Very very unethical, immoral and should be made illegal.

Couldn't agree more. A rise in bill of that amount is absolutely outrageous.

Switching contracts? How can they get away with that, unless it was in the terms and conditions that the op agreed to?

Appalling practice

The bigger question is WHY? Why is O2 allowing customers to sign up to business accounts when it's patently obvious they're not a business? Why isn't O2 running checks on customers? Why is O2 allowing unscrupulous third parties to scam customers? This makes me livid.

I DO NOT WORK FOR O2

and why do they hide under the guise of "trusted" partners when they are far from trustworthy?

^^ they make money out of it, but can (to an extent) wash their hands of it: "oh, really sorry, but you signed the contract and should have checked the terms before you agreed them"
