I might be only person who has used this bonus allowance for about a year now as a way to get in game currency. I normally play perfect world international games their payment system uses ZEN currency they offer mobile payments with BOKU and ZONG (mobile charging/topup system sent via text message or a call). I have always used those two. However this month I believe o2 has stopped that. I tried talking to O2 on the O2chat system today, didnt get very far. He kept thinking I was DOWNLOADING Games and it was one misunderstanding after another. Now its not working, it now charges your account balance instead of the bonus credit allowance first. The O2 guy kept saying no you cant use it for downloads. I Wasnt downloading anything. Now it seems I will have to topup again as I wont have enough for my bolt on next month anniversary. Annoyed as hell as I wont use that bonus allowance now and has to be used before 3rd Jan, as I already have tarrif active with texts and data, and i have bolt on for family so calls are covered.  For something I have always done to now suddenly not working with no warning, seems strange to me.  So not fair really.

The o2 staff member couldnt find the direct link to where it covers terms and condtions of use for bonus allowance from text message offers & the search function on there is always broken. So if anyone can point me in correct direction, where terms and conditions are for this bonus allowance from pay and go text message offers is I would be very grateful.

So by definition of the wording of the second message it's for calls , texts and data only.

Nothing else.

Hope you get the clarification you seek on ringing customer services.

Hi,

I would circumvent Live Chat and speak to o2 Uk CS on 4445 or

From a landline 0844 809 0222 5p / min

If your referring to the "Rewards" that can be claimed every quarter if your opted in then ive used that for credit to use for my next allowance refresh on Payg, although i'm not sure this is what you mean.

Best speak to CS.

Nope, sorry. I'm completely unfamiliar with your issue and wouldn't know where to start !!

Using Pay and Go credit to pay for games, I've never heard that this was possible and doubt it ever was.

Hiya, no, not rewards, its a text message from O2 saying different amounts everyone gets different offer varying amounts of bonus credit to how much you have to top up by.

My most recent text message for a bonus offer was:
" O2: One last Christmas pressie.
Fancy an extra £10 allowance? Just top up £25 or more once before the end of 30/12/2013. Then its all yours. Use your extra allowance for calls, texts or data anytime in the next 7 days. To stop these offers call 2220. "

Another misunderstanding, I am not paying for games or downloads. I was doing essentially payment via text message for in game currency to use boutique. If it was never possible how has my bonus allowance been used each time in past when I have topped up using these offers whilst keeping my account credit, it used my bonus allowance. as I Always used the "balance" to 20202 to ensure its been taken off my bonus allowance and not my account credit. This time when I came to checking it had taken from my account credit and not touched my bonus allowance. Its broken or they changed something. I was just curious to see if any TOS or T&C has changed but cannot even find them lol.

Well yes O2 call it credit allowance when you do "balance" to 20202 it shows in the text  messages that follow from them. Mine appear like this:

1 of 3: O2: You have unlimited calls and texts to your family this is due to run out on 31st dec. To make changes visit o2.co.uk

2 of 3: O2: You've got £10.00 of credit allowance to use for any calls, messages or data before 03 jan at 11:59pm.

3 of 3 O2: TEXT AND WEB FREE MONTHLY ALLOWANCE - 431 messaging units & 484.4MB left which will expire on 11 Jan.

So as you can see first one shows me my bolt on, second is this bonus credit allowance, and third is my tariff. When the bonus credit allowance has been used it says £0.00 credit allowance. When you do a balance on 20202 if the credit has expired it just stops showing the second text message.
