mmail (sending a email to my phone as a text message)

I used to be able to send emails from my gmail account directly to my mobile on o2. 

Suddenly not working and reading the forums this service is no longer supported. I've got 3 accounts with o2 for over 20 years and had no pre-advice about this (I'm not a broadband customer).

Is this 100% no longer working? Or is there no other way I can divert some of my emails to a text on my phone?

I'll be looking to find another supplier if this is the case, I rely on these instant texts for very important emails.

Those servers were never hosted by O2.

I believe it was PlusNet and they closed them down at the end of last year.

There are other servers you can use for this if you have a search on Google.
