please forgive me if this thread is elsewhere already...
I have noticed on my accnt that i have been charged on the occasions for a 'media message',however having looked at the actual message on my phone i can see that itisa longer text message with no other media other than text. Does anyone know why i am being charged as a media text?
I have looked back previous bills and this has been happening for over a year without my knowledge. Is this something in the contract? How do i stop this? Surely these texts should be coming off my text allowance and not charging?
Thanks

Hi,
Some phones such as the iPhone convert a longer than the usual text into a MMS automatically.
I believe some phones that can send business cards sends them as a MMS too.
In the iPhone their is a feature to turn MMS messages off.
Settings, Messages, MMS Messaging = Toggle to on or off.
You dont mention which phone your using so perhaps yours has this on/off facility too.
Another alternative is to incorperate MMS messaging into your Pay Monthly or PAYG Contract.

If you have Android there is usually a setting to warn you if a text message is converted to MMS.

No, MMS are not included with your free SMS texts and are charged separately.
Stay within 160 characters to avoid this.
