By my calculations this Thursday 22nd is 6 months since the release of both phones. Do you think o2 will allow us to unlock (as per their usual ways) after that period? I notice their website still says you can’t until after the phone is paid off in full...

Not on newly released iPhones no.

Only way to make sure your new iPhone is unlocked is to buy it outright from Apple

@iphone4sir It night be that there is no info on the unlocking of iPhones yet but I'll certainly ask the question and I'll update you in this thread once I hear back.

Good to hear @calviin. At least we know O2 are unlocking now wink

However the website still claims they can't be unlocked

If you've got an iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, iPhone X, Samsung Galaxy S8 or S8 Plus you won't be able to get it unlocked unless you've paid off your Device Plan in full.

Yeah i was expecting them to say no but did it anyway. I'm not planning on using another network I just wanted to have it unlocked just cause slight_smile

It's happened in the past but has been proven to be a mistake.
If the person processing the request doesn't realise which phone it is or aren't aware of the restrictions, etc.
