Hiya, first can I contact o2 threw email or is it only live chat or phone?

My issue is, I brought a iPad and monthly contract so I was paying for the iPad monthly also over 2 years, but does the contract automatically renew into a new contact? As I haven't heard from o2 but I am still being charged monthly but for double amount than the original contract?

Thanks

Hi Linda62

Firstly, you can only contact O2 through either live chat or phone. For account queries we always recommend contacting Customer Services http://www.o2.co.uk/contactus rather than using live chat.

With regard to your contract, once the 24 month period has elapsed then the contract should be on a month to month rollover but not a brand new contract.

You say your monthly payment has doubled from the original contract amount. Was the original contract amount a special discount, ie 24 months at £20 instead of £35? If you received a special discounted rate for the 24 month contract, then at the end of the contract, the discount will no longer apply and the full amount becomes payable each month.

I would suggest you speak to Customer Services, between 8-8:30am is the best time, to clarify what's happening on your account.

Good luck and welcome to the forum.

Hi @Linda62 No it doesn't automatically renew. If your contract has finished and you haven't cancelled it, it will continue on a rolling contract. https://community.o2.co.uk/t5/How-to-Guides/Cancelling-Your-Contract-A-Guide/ba-p/566774

You need to contact customer services and speak to them. https://www.o2.co.uk/contactus

Don't use live chat. If the device is paid for ie contract term is up, then CS will advise you of the best tariff , or the way forward...

As said any discount will automatically stop after the 24 months and will be at full price on a 30 day rolling contract until you end the contract. If you wish to do that then you need to give 30 days notice but make sure you get the ipad unlocked by following the process here.

Ending the contract instructions here.
