I was told 24 hours, but does that mean 2-24 hours? Or should I really wait till tomorrow?

@dcanderssonHave you bought a special number fro your phone? If so you need to contact customer services and ask them how long it will be before you can you use it https://www.o2.co.uk/contactus
Or if its a simple sim activation then follow this advice https://www.o2.co.uk/help/phones-sims-and-devices/activating-your-sim

You can get Gold Silver or Bronze numbers. The price is highest for the gold @Anonymous

This whole Gold, Silver, Bronze number thing puzzles me. Why would anyone pay for a special number that no one cares about? If someone gives me their number, it goes into my contacts and that's that. When they call or text, the name comes up, not the number. I never see the number again. Paying for a 'special' number seems a little pointless, unless it's for a business and you're going to advertise it.
