changing tariffs%20through%20carphone%20warehouse

I am switching tariffs but still with O2. I'm doing this through Carphone warehouse and have been sent a new sim. how do I

1) keep my number as it looks like the new sim has a new number.

2) keep all the data I have on the phone (photos, contacts etc.)

3) make the switch, does my old tariff stop automatically if that makes sense.

Just call customer service Guide: How to find help & contact O2 and ask them to migrate your old number to new contract.

Your stuff on the phone won't change.
