How much left of my contract do I have to pay off and when is the cut off point? I do not want upgrade I will be changing networks

I signed up on o2 yesterday and recieved phone and sim today? All working. When I signed up I gave a pac code to move a number across from sky just not heard anything. Will my old number just transfer across?
