Why is it impossible to cancel an O2 tablet airtime contract ? The tablet has been paid for but O2 still want me to keep the airtime contract unless I cancel the contract so I tried to :
No way to do this online , the number they give you to call keeps you on hold in perpetuity , the chat also uses the internal infinite loop method where when the agent responds after 30 minutes and he tells me I have to transfer you to the cancellations team ( which personally I dont think exists ! ) and here we go , wait for it I am back where I started 30 minutes ago telling the chat box ( definitely non-AI and reminiscent of the Fonejacker automated phone line ) I want to cancel my contract ? At this point I feel a bit of a Deja vous moment and the dread of another 30 minutes staring blankly at my mobile phone waiting for the O2 message gods to grace me with a response made me give up . I made a formal online complaint on the 9th May and despite being told I would get a response in 7 days I have heard nothing .
Are O2 really that desperate to keep customers ?
The only option I have left is to cancel the direct debit . I can safely say I will never use O2 or Virgin Media ever again as its seems you are locked in for life whether you like it or not .

The anecdotal evidence is that complaints are taking ~ 8 weeks to resolve @Dia-Fit and have the added benefit of meaning that customer services are reluctant to do anything for fear of getting it wrong and impacting the complaint review.
If you can put the sim into a phone, will it allow you to send a message requesting a STAC code? If yes, use that on a free pay as you go sim and then throw it away.
If not, try using social media - links in this guide:
