Why are O2 charging me for recieving texts that i never recieved?

Hi, recently checked my phone bill. It had a charge for 3 recieved texts from this number 88288. The 3 numbers cost me about £3.75. Whats going on? why have i been charged? and these texts have not appeared on my phone?

These are premium texts from a link that you might have inadvertently clicked on whilst browsing. Reply STOP to the number to unsubscribe,

 

These companies are regulated by PhonePayPlus and not O2 so you should follow the advice on their website to try and get your money refunded.

Forward them to 7726.

 

Then get onto PhonepayPlus to report them and claim a refund:

assuming you didn't sign up for anything from them.

 

They could be flash messages if you can't still see them.

I have had this happen to me but they did show on my bill called o2 and they refunded as I didn't request them and wasn't going to pay for it
