I am on UK only calls, texts, and data plan.

I will be in Seychelles for 10 days.

Is it correct that there is no bolt-on for the Seychelles but I can make/receive calls at £3/min.

Is there an alternative other than changing my monthly plan?

No cheaper way on O2.

 A local PAYG SIM may be cheaper or there are some international eSIMs

One or two of our regular members may be able to advise on them

This is not O2 and we are all customers here similar to yourself and cannot answer account type queries.

@ACTraveller

I've used Worldsim in the past https://www.worldsim.com/?srsltid=AfmBOopU6stP2wtJE33lcL9XFCsOS4eVVjVkYf8I8u9zG1b5rz4QgMGG

but more recently i've been using https://www.airalo.com/?srsltid=AfmBOorCPlB0JuKVlSGcUqrZa0HlS-4lQPHA6p8KNsLJ8U_s2SBi1kHj

No problems with either and always had a perfect signal.

If neither suits you, use WhatsApp over wifi to contact other WhatsApp users and download Google maps when on wifi to use offline when traveling around.

Keep phone in airplane mode with wifi on if doing that.

I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.
