Upgrading from 3G to 4G as a current customer

Hi all after reading an article on Engadget about O2 dropping there 4G prices to £17 a month (my current 3G bill is £17 before phone payment) I called them up to ask if I could move to 4G as I already have a 4G phone (iPhone 5S) they came back saying my tariff is still £22 for 4G if I want to upgrade.

I am I missing something my current tariff is a 1gb cap.

I was promised by live chat, 202 and even Toby's mate that I would get a £5 discount but it now transpires I'm not eligible as I have F&F discount 😞

Have to agree MI5 (as usual) that it just isn't good enough.

If o2 say, and put in the written form, then it should be honoured.

I've no doubt somewhere in the deepest darkest terms and conditions it will say "thou shal't not rely on promises made by the o2 staff" but it just ain't cricket I'm afraid and whilst o2 and I had become friends again the relationship is now fractious again.

Ok now there online chat says there no new tariff and there no date for the introduction of the new 17.99 plus phone tariff. No wonder they stoped my upgrade to 4G.

Actually, eligibility for F&F and O2 Open hasn't been announced yet.  Its not 100% true that you aren't eligible, just that its not in this current phase.  Those on F&F and O2 Open will be updated when plans are confirmed.

Makes more more determined to push for it now.... I probably would have let it go before today's announcement wink

I agree push for anything you can get now it's a matter of principles now I had an erroneous mms charge on my account which I wouldn't have bothered about but phoned up and wasted their time to get the 35p credited back
