Upgrade/Refresh Scenario

Anonymous
Not applicable

Hi Guys!

I'm going to upgrade to the iPhone 6 but I want to do it in a certain order and wanted to know wheather it would be possible!

I want to get my new contract before paying it off, so would I be able to keep all my details etc.!? And then I want to sell my phone what I have now before I pay off the contract so that I then have the money to do so.

Is this possible!?

Any replies would be much appreciated!

Thanks

David

My thoughts too, it's a certainty to credit check with one contract already running so not sure why it was pointed out that they might not?

Indeed, it is strange to see why that advice would be offered?

Advice given in good faith and from previous experience from other people I've spoken to.

If it turns out O2 want to perform another credit check then it's their prerogative.

As we are ALL customers we don't know 100% how O2 will deal with this customer.

I'm sure we'll find out soon enough when the OP gives their thread an update.

I am a customer with 4 contracts currently with O2 and I can assure you each one was credit checked.
If your credit is OK it won't be an issue at all, but if you have anything suspicions on file you would be well advised to just go straight for the upgrade.
O2 will use any excuse to deny a contract, as we see on here very often.

I upgraded my O2 account this morning to a iPhone 6 Plus. I was already on a refresh account and moved onto a new phone and tarrif.

I was told that there wasn't a credit check but this was for the same account. Not sure if you are wanting a 2nd contract running along side the first. The process was very simple as i paid the remaining phone credit off with the new up front cost.

Hope this helps

That's what we've been saying....
No CC if upgrading but 100% yes for new contracts, regardless of already having one or not.....

Which is exactly how we tried to advise. Normal upgrade no credit check. Taking out another contract to run alongside the current contract, a definite credit check.
