Hi - I am not great with technology so a quick question I could do with clarifying before I upgrade my phone/tariff etc.
On my old tariff I got unlimited wifi, and I could get that through any provider, so at home I get broadband through sky and I could connect my phone up to that (and any other wifi provider)
Under the new tarriffs it state 'unlimited wifi through BT wifi' - does that mean I won't be able to link up my phone to my sky broadband or any other router?
Thanks for your help all, apologies if this is a lame quesiton!!

Hi,
I'm pretty sure this is just the Wi-Fi access that is provided by third parties e.g. BT. O2 used to have a deal with the cloud which gave you access to the cloud network.
To be honest I dont really like how this is described.
You will still be able to access a home Wi-Fi network and of course use it as much as that provider allows you to. Obviously O2 do not have a say on how much you use of say Virgin broadband.
I'd also like to point out I've never been able to access the BT network that comes with O2, but I think that's down to there not being access in my local area. Despite how many of these my phone tries to join, very few are official.

Thanks for your post - i had assumed that I can use home wifi as much as possible but given my lack of knowledge in these areas (!!) I thought I would check as I use it all the time.

If you try to connect to a chargeable wi-fi you will be asked to set up an account and pay for it.
Many hotspots are free to use in cafes and pubs and often they will give you a password to allow you to use it.
