@Philly yes, but it's not cheap and data is rubbish. http://international.o2.co.uk/internationaltariffs/travelling_abroad 

You are much better off getting a local sim whilst out there or use wifi for messenger, whatsapp etc.

@Philly Make sure your phone is unlocked before you travel. You would need a local sim from AT&T or T-Mobile.

Three's data coverage is a bit iffy as well. It really depends on how long the OP is planning to be in the US. If it's only a week or so, a local sim may not be worth it.
