I am going to Canada soon. When I've selected the O2 Travel bolt-on on the O2 website I get a message saying "This Bolt On isn't compatible with the Standard Rates in our Europe Zone Bolt On you already have".

I don't understand how this is relevant.

It's a meaningless message, as any Europe Zone bolt-on is effectively rendered pointless as O2 offer "Roam like Home" as standard in the EU and some other European countries.

Guide: Roaming MegaGuide contains the info, @Davo64.

Also this query's answer may help: https://community.o2.co.uk/t5/Pay-Monthly/This-Bolt-On-isn-t-compatible-with-the-Standard-Rates-in-o...

Hi @Davo64

Have you got O2 Travel Inclusive? Check your bolt on in My O2.

You don't need O2 travel if travelling to Europe as it's free in EU countries

If travelling to Canada then look at these images and links

O2 travel Inclusive Canada..jpg

https://www.o2.co.uk/international/using-your-phone-abroad

If not, anyone is eligible for O2 Travel. Text O2TRAVEL to 23336 This allows you to use calls texts and data for 6£ per day.
