Travel bolt-on?

Anonymous
Not applicable
It's a bit unclear to me how the travel bolt-on works. If I send a single SMS does that cost me £4.99? Second question, how do I remove it (in case it actually costs that much)? There is no button for removing O2 Travel bolt-on in MyO2.

Never mind a text, if someone sends you a voicemail it can too.

Call customer services to have the bolt on removed and use a local sim whilst abroad. It will work out much cheaper for you.
Make sure your phone is unlocked before you travel.

I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.
Please select the post that helped you best and mark as the solution. This helps other members in resolving their issues faster. Thank you.

Agreed, way to go.

If you are contract then install TU and use over wifi for calls and texts back to the UK, that way you can use your UK allowances. You will probably find that unless you are payandgo data will be unusable even for £4.99/day. Best all round to just opt out.

You can also opt out by texting NOTRAVEL to 23336.

@iphone4sir That'd why you should always turn voicemails off before traveling abroad
