Transfer of number to a new person

Anonymous
Not applicable

Sorry if this has already be asked and answered clearly. I have a Pay Monthly contract that is outside of its contracted term. I want to transfer the number (and I presume the existing contract) to a new person, so that they can start a new contract under their own name with a new handset etc, as though they were a new customer. As far as I can see, they need to first set up an account (how?) and then the transfer can be initiated, ideally with both parties on a call with 02.

Thanks for any help and advice.

They need to obtain a contract in store or online then as you say you can both call to transfer the number.

You can't transfer the contract, you can only transfer the number. Doing so will automatically end that contract and a final bill will be produced so that you can pay up in full any remaining charges.

They don't which was why I said a new contract in store or online is required first.
