PLEASE HELP!

I can't get through to O2 customer services/online chat or gurus - anyone can answer my question is appreciated..

ARE TEXTS TO 88440 FREE OR CHARGABLE?

Google search advises they may be on different tariffs and I don't want to

pay but I am getting SPAM TEXTS from a local pizza shop.
it tells me to 'text "LEAVE" to 88440' to end texts.. I cannot reply to the message and  want this service to stop.

THANKS in advance :kissing_heart:

Yes, shortcodes are chargeable.

If you have a spend cap it will stop you from sending them.

If you Google the company sending them there will be alternative ways to opt out of marketing texts and emails.

Thanks! Do you know how much they charge? I have previously Googled and it told me to text a standard number with would stop all texts from the company used by the food shop.. I texted the standard mobile number and the texts haven’t stopped that’s why I think I need to text the short code number??

Google suggests the cost is between 8 to 12 pence.

Oh well that’s okay! I thought ‘premium text’s were gonna be £1-£1.50ish not like an out of bundle charge price.
Thanks for your help. Have a great day
