Anyone have any suggestions as to why tethering won't work between phone and laptop/ipad when roaming abroad? I have a contract plan and O2 travel + International bolt on. Have tried both iphone and Samsung, thinkpad laptop and surface pro. It hasn't let me do this before, and again now, am really needing the connection for work, and spotty wifi where I am.

Have tried wireless, and bluetooth connections, resetting just about all sorts, all devices are unlocked. Am at a loss as to what to do next. Thanks.

Hi @tctravel

You cannot use your phone as a hotspot International as per our terms and conditions which you can find here.

You may not use your Smartphone as a personal hotspot connection (this is also known as tethering) while using data on O2 Travel.

The internanail bolt-on is for cheaper calls within the UK:-
For £3 a month you’ll be able to make calls to international mobiles and landlines, from just 1p per minute, Make calls to international mobiles and landlines in over 200 countries, from just 1p a minute Call directly from your phone – no apps, calling cards or IVRs No connection charges, hidden fees or vanishing minutes

The only way to do this @tctravel

Is to be on the £120 capped roaming plan, and lose o2 Travel,
- Xperia 1V - o2 and Spusu
- Pixel 8 Pro - o2 and Vodafone UK
