Switch from 18 month to 1 month contract

Hi,

My 18 month contract is ending in August and I'm looking to switch to a Simplicticy 1 month roll over contract instead. I just have a couple questions about the whole process (first contract phone, can you tell?) How long does the whole process take? As in am I going to have to do the whole 24 hour activation thing again? Can I change my sim and take my number to a Simplicty 1 month before the end of my 18 month contract? (my end date is the middle of the week...kind of problematic!).

My fiance is also switching to O2 from Orange - does anyone know if he can take his number to O2 before the end of the contract? I assume he'll have to go through the 24 hour process again right?

I'm sure these are all easy questions, its just not something I've done before. Thanks so much for your help!!!

Your swap from contract to contract simplicity 1 month will be seamless just ensure you talk to o2 on 202 for free and arange it the old contract will end and the simplicity tariff will kick in when agreed with o2 number etc all unaffected.

The orange number to port to o2 will take the 24 hours and using the pac code will end the contract with orange so any remaining charges to end of contract date would be charged by orange.
