Sim only upgrade

Hi there, I am currently on a O2 sim only and looking to change to pay monthly. 

I am over the 12 months and free to change as I please but with regards to staying with O2 do i have to upgrade to a deal or can I get a new pay monthly deal and keep my number.

Hopefully this makes sense.

Upgrade you automatically keep your number

If you choose to buy new with tariff then you need to migrate your number via customer service
