Sim only contract and airplane mode?

Hi, I currently work overseas for a extended period of time and I’m unable to use my phone which is on a sim only contract so it’s currently on airplane mode. I was just wondering if there is a time frame of the contact being cancelled as the sim is not being used? As I don’t want this to happen as I will need the phone when I do travel back to the uk.

As you are on a contract, you won't be disconnected. It will just roll on a monthly basis. It's only PAYG sims which have a time limit

If pay monthly, there is no time frame before they cancel the number, as you pay for it each month.

If PAYG then between 3 to 6mths before the number is disconnected.
