Setting call forward to another mobile while in USA

Anonymous
Not applicable

Planning on taking advantage of the THREE 'Feel at home' tarrif and sim while I'm in USA as O2 roaming costs in USA are ludicrous.

Rather than carry two phones (one with my o2 sim for people trying to contact me urgently and other with the THREE sim) will I be able to set up call fwd to the THREE number from my O2 number while I'm stateside or does it need to be done before I leave?

I know I'll be charged for the call divert part of the call.

Did a search of the communities but can't see a specific answer to this.

Cheers

Just as a future reference for those who want to for the call divert option, here are a few things to help slight_smile

Using call divert  Abroad

You can use this service abroad and it works in the same way as it does in the UK, however remember to use international country codes where applicable.

If you are using Not Reachable, Busy or No Reply Diverts whilst Roaming you will be charged for receiving a call and for the number you are diverting to i.e. 2 calls. Both of these calls will be charged at International Rates.

If you divert to Voicemail using their Voicemail DDN and use Not Reachable, Busy or No Reply Diverts whilst Roaming you  will be charged for receiving a call and for the number you are diverting to (Voicemail DDN) i.e. 2 calls. Both of these calls will be charged at International Rates.

If you use Unconditional Diverts you will be charged for the number you are diverting to i.e. 1 call. This is charged as a UK Call.

NOTE: You  cannot divert to an international number (non UK).

Sound advice @Anonymous. Personally I don't use divert, far to expensive here at £1.50 per part minute.

Really helpful. Think it's best I set an unconditional divert to the three sim number before I leave the UK rather than rely on the tugo app while in USA. Using tugo would need a decent stable data connection whereas just diverting my o2 number will just incur a standard UK call if anyone calls my o2 number. The three feel at home plan means I can receive UK calls free in States.

How did that work for you ?

I am thinking of doing exactly the same ting when i go to the US. I have used telaway before which is great but it is more expensive and doesnt work with texts.

If you set up unconditional diverts to the 3 mobile no and you get charged as if it was a UK number is it correct it is just a uk mobile call charge ?

What happens to texts going to your O2 number, is there a way to push them to the 3 mobile no ?

Yes just a UK call. You can't push texts but TuGo or MightyText work great.

ok great so call forwards would come out of my UK allowance.

Does the Tugo app not just work over wifi ?

It works over gsm or wifi but sending or making/receiving calls would be chargeable unless connected to wifi, in which case they would come from your allowance.
